The new gold standard of Thai cuisine is now open.

Tong's Thai 1055 Main Street Milford 248-2999

We’re going to come right out and state it... The best Thai we’ve had to date period is Milford’s brand new Tong’s Thai. No bull, no exaggeration, no advertiser bias, nothing but the god’s honest truth. It simply doesn’t get any better than this.
After dining on three of Tong’s Thai’s delicious dishes we needed to find out why this is so much different than any we’ve seen before. Turns out chef owner Naike grew up in Thailand cooking at his mothers side on her street cart. Those of you foodies out there know, street cart food is the most sought after authentic food in the homeland. Naike’s mom taught him not just the recipes, but the science behind the spices and sauces. He started cooking as a toddler at the busy street markets in Thailand. Now you know damn well this guy is the real deal. His food is the real deal too. Take for instance the noodles. Sure there is Pad Thai, but they also have Pad Se Ewe, just like all the places in Thailand do. Naike explained Pad=stir fried, Se Ewe= the special rich brown sauce it’s sizzled in. Unlike Pad Thai this dish features fresh dumpling like noodles. Naike says “All Thai places have them.. you just call out Shrimp Se Ewe or whatever you like and they bring it out to you, just like that. Everybody has it”.

The menu offers appetizers like this fried tofu (center). Fried rice (all Thai style of course), noodles, authentic Thai entrees like this amazing (let’s say it again, AMAZING) fried Walleye dish (bottom). The fresh slab is hand slathered, fried crisp and served smothered in a sauce laden with flavor. Best fish we’ve had in a long time, and maybe ever will.
Tong’s Thai is open now and it’s an experience not to be missed. If you love Thai or just great Asian, try anything on the menu, you’ll see what we mean.
