Mama Mio's!

Mio’s Pizzeria
217 Rivers Edge Dr. Milford
576-6666

Three Miami Township natives have taken back a spot on the Milford Parkway for mom & pop. That’s no easy feat either as most all the Parkway is dominated by corporate companies.
Miami Township residents Chris Forbes, Matt Petersman and Capt. Matthew Dienger (U.S. Army disabled Iraqi veteran) are now business partners/owners of the Mio’s Pizzeria on the Parkway.
Matthew, Matt & Chris took over the location on August 1st. They wasted no time implementing positive changes. “First we focused on the customer service” Chris and Matt said. “This location wasn’t known for the level of service we are determined to create now... in the past inattentive service was a problem”
Chris is now managing full time. From the food preparation in the kitchen to attending directly to the customers Chris is paying attention to every detail to insure the customers get fast, friendly service and fresh hot food. “I’ve been in the restaurant business for years, you (the owner) have to be here, absentee ownership can rarely deliver the level of customer satisfaction you need to get a good reputation. I’m here to personally make sure our customers get an experience they will come back for”.

The new owners have more plans than just giving the Mio’s a new reputation for excellent service too. Matt tells us “We’re focusing on adding 5 main things; a new rear facing sign, a new lunch special menu, local delivery, adding several TV’s and expanding our beer selection”. All those flat screens and beer taps are going to need a nice spot so plans are in the works for turning the previous buffet area into a full bar, fully stocked and fully staffed. “We want to create an environment where families can eat in the dining room and friends can gather at the bar and watch the games”. That doesn’t sound like the average Mios’s does it? You find many great improvements happen when you throw out the corporate rule book and allow the local owners to own and operate a place suited to their local friends & neighbors. For instance they already dropped the corporate soups and sauces and replaced them with fresh homemade ones and added several new non corporate items like Calamari, Fried Ravioli, fresh made Chicken Parmesan & Chicken Marsala, Buffalo Chicken Pizza, plus fresh made Buffalo Blue Saratoga Chips. It’s all good and that’s just for starters.
These local boys have their hopes and dreams in this venture and it already shows. We’re bound to see this once link in the chain store become a true neighborhood pizzeria. You can keep up with the current promotions and updates on our site or the new Mio’s facebook page at facebook.com/miosmilford
