Johnny T Band... Kick Ass Country Fans, You Better See It While You Can

“She likes the lights on, she likes the back seat, I like the way she loves to shake her ass in front of me” One line out of Johnny T’s original tune “When She Drinks” sums up the vibe of this band, rebel yell’n rock’n country ready for 2010.
Straight out of Nashville, Johnny T isn’t exactly a local band. So why are we writing about them? Simple, the January show they played at Buffalo Harry’s was one of the best we’ve seen in a long while. So good, we made a quick trip back to home base to grab a camcorder and snag a few songs out of the last set. We should have came prepared.

Buffalo Harry’s manager Kisha told us earlier in the month that this band was at the top of the list of all bands she has booked to date. Buffalo Harry’s has always had a hell of a band schedule so we should have known right then. Nevertheless despite our unpreparedness we managed to get a few good videos to go along with these great photos. www.johnnyt.net. has links to itunes where you can buy both of Johnny T’s releases (When She Drinks and Johnny T). You can here samples of many tracks and get a song for a buck or the album for $6. It’s well worth it, the track “When She Drinks” off their first CD is one of the videos we posted and our personal fave so far. What makes Johnny T merit this shameless raving? Let’s see, the show, the music, the originals, the energy, it’s all awesome. Radio ready to say the least.

Billed as a country band the band is young and fresh, (Johnny T: Guitar/Vocals, Jason Brooks: Electric Guitar, Tyler Parkey: Drums Aaron Eshuis: Bass/Vocals, Joe Hoogerhyde: Guitar/Vocals. Most of them look so young I doubt they’d ever make it into any club without a very crisp state issued ID.
They may be young but their skills seem to have decades of experience behind them.
They put on a show as if record execs are in the crowd and expel enough energy to light up the parking lot at Riverbend. I have a confident feeling we will see them there sooner or later.

The Buffalo Harry’s show had people in attendance all the way from Chicago! They may be labeled as country but Johnny T’s set list was fueled with almost as much rock as country. The covers were cool and the band tattooed their own twist to all of them but the originals were what peaked our interest.
Further investigation into their sample tracks online show this band’s originals are pure country, rockin’ country but definitely country. Check it out for certain.
You can see the band up close & personal at Buffalo Harry’s on February 20th. It will be a night of hard partying, hot girls and damn fine high energy music. This is one show you just have to see for yourself. The band is making big waves with their live performances and it’s easy to see why.
February 20th at Buffalo Harry’s will be your only chance locally to see for yourself.
